it occurs to me

because jonquil linked to that new doctorow thing, that if you duct taped doctorow, stross, and maybe scalzi together and then shook them for a while, you'd eventually get something that resembled a heinlein book out of them.

BAH HAH HAH HAH!!! So true. Maybe that's why I'm so allergic to them even though once in a while I like them kind of a teeny bit?

Don't forget Spider Robinson and John Varley.

Heinlein's magentism is powered by The Powers That Be and continues to aggregate generations of imaginative writers. Pity.

(And I adored Heinlein when i was a little J.)

I'm not sure that the world really needs more Heinlein books, but I do think that people would give a LOT of money to see this as a worldcon sort of program item. Think of the fundraising possibilities! Donations for EFF!

I Am With This Comment (and I'm pretty sure that Stross, for one, might not be entirely averse to it).

LOL

Except, I can't stand Heilein, and I rather enjoyed some things I read by those three.

*has read a lot of Heinlein but only in misspent youth once I got boobs, and realized I was stuck being a woman, I didn't much like 'em*

**has read no Doctorow, Scalzi, or Stross except online non fiction stuff (I started Scalzi novel once and didn't like it--Heinlein flashbacks**

But I strongly suspect you're right.

Now, can we writez a grant for the experiment????
