I ave developed hatred for my story in progress, because progress is failing.
I have all these cool ideas that my chaacter needs to figure out, but i can't figure out how to get her to figure them out in a reasonable manner and pace.

Whenever I hit points like that, what seems to work best for me is to just get up and walk away - as in literally. I'd take one hour or longer walks just to clear my head and eventually I'd figure out how to do what I wanted to do.

It doesn't have to be walking, but for me that worked best. Another trick that worked well was to just open up a new document and write whatever came to mind, no matter how silly - not trying to work on anything, just, again, clearing my head.

I am so right there. I'm about to just skip to the next scene in my head and double back. I know exactly where my main character needs to be at the end of the next two hours, but I just can't get her there.
