Well, I know there are only a few people who read my lj, and most of them know this because they post elsewhere with me, but i had a baby on sunday. Her name is Imogene Zora, and she freaking rocks. I finally went into labor late saturday night/early saturday morning, but it was still mild, (not as mild as it had been for two weeks of non painful contractions) so i got some sleep, and was woken up at about 7 am sunday in real freaking pain. I let dh sleep for another half an hour, and then woke him and ds up, and headed in to the hospital. Labor sucks. anyhow, i hung out having bitchtastic contractions until about noon, listening to damien rice which i found very satisfying. Around noon they decided my progress was slow, and i let them break my membranes at like 12:30. About then i switched the cd to bright eyes, which i also found very satisfying and distracting, especially once the drugs kicked in. Things got even more intense quick, and i asked for drugs. yay numorphene. that made it tolerable, ahtugh still sucktastic, until about 1:30, when it started getting intolerable again. At the moment it got unbearable, the resident had his hand in my snatch, so i yelled "you need to STOP" and everyone was all "no, we can't stop, you're having this baby " and i yelled back, pointing, "no, YOU need to STOP whatever the fuck you are doing right now!" Then, the urge to push began. and i started pushing. i didnt tell them i was gonna start pushing, though, until about the 3rd push, at which point like half the people in the room screamed "don't push yet" until my doctor got loud enough to be heard yelling back "no, she needs to push" 3 pushes later, with me screaming "F*CK THIS, I AM GONNA DIE" and then she was out.
Anyhow, that's the condensed birth story. now we're home, and she is amazing.
