in non wiscon news

maevelei tried to install easy peasy, but have the wrong damn usb drive? or some such?
also, i'm linux inept, so it broke my brain trying to install it.
and what I'm trying not to type about, my paternal grandmother is unwell. like, very unwell. like in treatment for cancer and now has had a heart attack, probably shouldn't wait til july to go see her if I wanna make sure i see her.
and i had lost touch with her for no good reason for the last 2 years, my phone got disconnected so i lost touch for a little while, and then i felt like i couldn't get back in touch without some damn good excuse for having been out of touch, or some way to make it up to her. So now right after wiscon, i'm gonna be figuring out the logistics of getting up to the hometown and visiting her in the hospital. I feel like a total asshole for not skipping the con, actually, to get up there as soon as possible, but my family seems pretty sure that i can wait until next week, at least, so I'm going to enjoy the con, because it is the damn highlight of my year, and then go up. My other gram died right around wiscon too, and i almost remember my mother waiting til after the con to tell me.
