So, stinky loves his laptop, but is frustrated because its a tiny linux box and can not do all the exciting online gaming he would like, is not compatible with a lot of content. I'm sure there's all kinds of shiny little things I could do to make a linux machine run these things, but he has dinky-ass memory anyway.

i, uh, haven't used a windows machine since like 98. but I think i may have to suck it up and get him some basic hypercompatible windows thing that can do ALL the web browser games and yaddayadda. but I don't even know what the minimum standard for decent web gaming even is at this point. what should i look for, ram/hd wise?

edit, or shouuld i just windows his machine?

Installing Windows is probably an option.

I don't know enough about online gaming to really know what sort of machine specs are required, but web browser games are usually flash, aren't they? other types of games require beefy sound and graphics cards, but if he's playing flash games in a browser, you just need a machine that can run both Firefox and the latest flash plugins.

or get him a Mac and he will have a GUI'ed Unix machine that can run Windows. I practically sleep with mine. :)
