okay, so i have done the reading, and sorta understand, though disagree like woah about what some people think the problem with OTW/AO3 is, or whatever.

but i keep rereading and trying to grasp the thought process of people who have problems with wiscon. huh?

if you have such a problem, or just understand said problem? could you 'splain?

Can you link to the comments about WisCon??

I think what I find most irritating is that I literally had to ask people face-to-face wtf was up with with people hating the OTW/AO3, because nobody would discuss it in a public post.

Of course, I just looked at metafandom for the first time today, and I guess I'll have to go read them.

uuurrgh, I can't figure out if it is appropriate to link to it, even though it was someone's public post, but because I was there like third hand, and was linked to it by someone else's flocked post. and I have boundary issues apparently. it's only a few people, but folks are agreeing, and no one is going "waitwut?"

but here

It's okay, I won't start a flame war, and probably won't even comment at all (I used to follow [livejournal.com profile] mevennen, actually), I just wanted to know what people were saying.

And now having actually read it, it seems very.....WTF, like she's upset that people haven't adorned her with pearls because of her books.

I know that my boyfriend likes them!

I guess I don't get it because, WisCon's made up of people, you know? It's not like 1,000 people secretly decided, "That one, shun her!"

A supportive group of female writers sounds cool, but being a jerk about it in her LJ doesn't seem like a good way to start.

Yeah, I really liked one of her books, but... I dunno, probably there are lots of women writers who haven't been approached by WisCon?

Also I am guessing that maybe lots of writers involved w/WisCon APPROACHED THE CON to participate. Instead of wondering why no one approached them.

But maybe she hasn't b/c as [livejournal.com profile] fjm purports WisCon is super hierarchical? (WTF is that about???)
