cut my caffiene consumption by like 80% today.

had no anxiety.

none. and after the last two days, today should have been bad too, that's how it usually works.

if it has been my coffee addiction keeping me from getting over the anxiety all this fucking time since I've been on the antidepressants, omg I am so pissed.

having so little caffiene was a lot like being on the lorazepam, really, and I had to take a nap.

Wow, that's a huge difference. I'm surprised your doctor didn't mention it (mine did when I was having severe anxiety) as a possibility (or did they?).

not even once did they even ask if I drank coffee. The anxiety only kicked in when my depression finally got medicated for real, and when I went in or the anxiety, she suggested meditation and wrote me a scrip for lorazepam..

I am glad to hear you might be onto something that will help you so much! I know when I cut coffee completely, it really helped my health and my insomnia. Now I drink it some, but with great moderation and then I enjoy it more. I read From Chocolate to Morphine, and it helped me understand the effects of caffience more than with anything the doctor told me. You can get the book at the library if you are interested; it is recommended by NORML.

I have been cutting caffeine this past week and trying to quit smoking (Charles was gone, it seemed like the best time to go through withdrawals) and I am having weird results. No caffeine means I'm mellow and sleepy, but no cigarettes makes me really twitchy for ten minutes or so every time I think about it. That's really psychological, though, I can tell, whereas the caffeine anxiety was physiological.

Oh, wow, that's great if it continues working, and sad that they never suggested it. :(
