I notice an awful lot of folks are using Last.fm, and I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing about it that makes it cooler than pandora? Because not only does pandora get my my jams, it uses the word "headnodic" in it's descriptions of why it picked me something. Why is Last becoming the radio of choice for so many?

Date: 2009-03-02 01:25 am (UTC)I've played with last and found them more limited, and more likely to play the same song by a given artist, which frustrated me. but i can see how the "other people like this" thing would e cool.

It uses what it tracks to make recommendations, and they are generally pretty good (I've found several new-to-me artists this way). I can recommend tracks and/or artists to friends and link them straight to samples. Plus, I can tailor-make playlists, listen to tracks that I've designated favorites even when I don't have that music on my machine, etc.
My husband uses & loves Pandora, and I can't convert him, for whatever that's worth. :)
