so, I read a couple of Sherlock Holmes stories as a kid, and then discovered sf and stopped reading mysteries. So, I am not familiar with most of the canon, am vaguely familiar with the characters iconically, but find my self gobsmacked by h/w fic, vids and slash. What I have read so far is perfectly the holmes and watson in my head.
