finally heard jeff buckleys version of " be my husband" I had tried to figure out where the damo/hannigan version evolved from the origina, but jeffs is that middle step. damo covers jeff's cover. again.

Also: everyone who sings Hallelujah sings his version, not the original Leonard Cohen -- from k.d. lang to Justin Timberlake. I'm a big fan of his cover but it's almost like people don't even know he changed it at all.

except bono. and have you heard willie nelson's cover? But yeah, otherwise the buckley version has become the standard, and it's beautiful, but lacks the darkness of the original.
