I went over and read Megan Lindholm's piece and found it so enraging it actually took my breath away.
Yeah, lady, if your kid needs medication for a treatable condition and you're denying her the health care she needs? It IS your fault. (That said, it's possible her daughter just has senioritis; I don't usually read her blog and I don't know her daughter. There are plenty of flaky teenagers in this world who do not have ADD. But all those oh-so-rhetorical questions she poses, 'what about when they grow up? do they just stay on drugs for LIFE?' ... these have, you know, actual answers.)
What unmitigated, judgmental, uneducated asshattery! And this is coming from someone whose work I admire and enjoy. Kind of makes me want to spring my mom on her when she's manic and see how fast she goes from thinking that artistic temperament = bipolar disorder to omgwtfbbq get this lunatic away from me. My mom lives in her area too. **chuckles maniacally**
