I've been avoiding the story for a whole week. I'm not even stuck, just unmotivated. And actually, I have spent all of my available time either reading about and arguing about the emoon drama, or trying to distract myself from the same with things that are hot and fluffy. Like parties and eyeshadow and music and fic and the new mcr stuff. So if I am going to write, I need to drop either the drama or the fluff. Yes, i would write more if I drop both, but fuck that.

So, I am gonna try to ignore people acting like ignorant asshats, and not keep up on the bullshit anymore. It took some thought, but the fluff feeds me and the bullshit drains me, so even though addressing bullshit is more important than fluff, it interferes more with the words, and I need to let them be important too.

Addressing bullshit is important but the first priority is to keep yourself fed. It's hard to accomplish anything by being so drained.

You are not the only one who can and does address the bullshit. Don't give more than you have.

It's always good to fight the good fight. But don't grind yourself into dust while dong so. Be kind to yourself too.

One of the purposes of the linkspam roundups is to remind people, "someone else *does* care; it *will be* addressed; you are not alone in your awareness of asshattery and you can take some damn *rest* if you need to -- the internet's got you covered." (Of course, the asshattish jerks have support too. Sigh.) And that means, unless some particular post catches your eye and demands a response, unless you feel just compelled to write something... you can let it go. There's always more to read, more to learn, more perspectives to absorb, more cool people to discover... but you don't need to do them all today. Someone who has more energy will address some of the important stuff; you don't have to carry it all alone.

Go enjoy the fluff. The internet was made for fluff and activism (and porn), and you've done your activism bit for the moment.
