what I finally posted over at feministing
Oct. 7th, 2009 03:30 amonce I got past all the snark and 'OOOOHH, JUST SHUT YOUR PRIVILEGED ASSES UP AND FUCK YOU' which was m whole responce most opf today
'I am so seriously fed the fuck up with this place, actually. I haven't been a regular here for a loooong time, and I almost never evern read comment threads here, because of these types of issues. I'm stunned by the idea that ON A FEMINIST BLOG we should be having the debate as to whether it is too much to ask not to use oppressive language, and that mods should be active in addressing it? Are you people actually serious? Do we not expect people at more general progressive/liberal sites to make a fairly honest effort to moderate their spaces so as not to allow sexist speech, or we wonder how truly progressive/feminist friendly they actually are? Do we not expect those mods, if not to know for sure what it offensive or not, at least to Listen and Act when it is pointed out? Are we asking for so much more here? Can someone tell me what is different here, that feministing shouldn't be held to the same standard?'
