okay, on the whole "writing the other" thing that gets people going "Oh, but if I only write what i know, all my stories will just be about people just like me, damned if I do, etc"


dude. no one said "only write what you are" they say "write what you know" and yes, dammit, if you don't know shit about people who aren't just like you, either don't write it or educate your damn self. and if you don''t know shit about people who aren't just like you, writer or not, educate your damn self, or figure out how you've gotten to some grown ass age without knowing shit about people who aren't you.

fucking storms

I get done with book group, and oh look, tornado warning yay! and big monsoon storm! So I consider hiding in the basement of the bar til it clears, but decided to try to fight my way home. I get home, with the sirens blaring and the road 8 inches deep at points, and my family is in the basement, pobo all scared, and Z frantically trying to shop vac up the water from around the drums. ffffuuuuuu
