gave me the letter B. So, here's the songs that start with B that I like best and can think of right now it will be way more than 5 videos below cut
back back back ani difranco
This is one of my favorites of the second half of her career. it really showcases her funk folk, and her more philosophical bent.
black stacey saul williams
This is the song I discovered Saul williams through. I was just skimming the videos on detmand thing on the cable and the name caught my attention, due to my given name. I watched it four times that night, and then showed it to Z just like "YOU HAVE TO!" and at that point we were hooked and went looking for more of his stuff. Inteligent music about race ftw
ball and chain, janis
you shouldn't need to ask. this sng killifies me.
blame it on the girls mika
This song is just so fun, and showy, and a dancy pop song with content. mika rocks.
beat my guest adam ant
heh. heh. adam ant singing possible his least subtle song. heh.
baby blue Joan jett
heh again, Joan jett with one of her most overt songs.
these two go together, as JJ and AA were both so fucking huge to me from ages 8-12, when I was developing ideas about gender and sexuality. This may explain a couple things.
be my husband
I have to admit, I found this song through a cover version, but this is the version what kills.
before I walk on fire
Okay, everyone associates Sophie B with her couple of overrated cheesy hit songs. But I have loved her non single tracks since the first album. This in particular has been possibly my favorite since 92, no shit. "I don't want somewhere to run to, I don't want somebody I can shake, Lord I want my dignity again" yeah.
bottom tool
My love for tool knows no bounds. This song is one of their harshest emotionally, and then with that fucking coming through the shit empowering monologue bit done by rollins in the album version.
"im shameless now, im nameless now,
im nothing now, im no one now
but my soul must be iron 'cause my fear is naked
im naked and fearless
and my fear is naked"
bottom shelf damien rice
I love damo. this is one of his unreleased songs, which frustrates me so bad, because it's just so perfect. It's so simple and light, but so sad, and really showcases his voice beautifully. I don't know if it's The Damien Rice song I would pick to introduce people to him, but it's certainly the best one starts with B.
