I need new icons. Snarky icons. Possibly a "Crackers against racism" icon. That type of thing, anyway. There are too many icon comms, so I'm asking you, my flist. Where are the good icons?

Also, the new meds, make everything really clear, vibrant, and I'm disoriented. Not as acidy as the last meds, but there is some of that feeling. The drowsiness has eased off some. but they seem to be working. There is not a gray fog over the world, I don't hate everything. I'm enjoying simple shit again.

Moji is speaking in full proper sentences now. Like "The womens have drinks!" and "I got poop in my butt" and "no more monkeys jumping on the bed" and "Cuter than Shiloh Pitt!" and making up pretend games where her ducks are at the playground, or the action figures are having a sleepover. And she's not even 2. wtf?

HQ is reading chapter books, I may have mentioned. In fact, he's reading them at light fucking speed. He can finish a Ricky Ricotta book in about an hour, a captain underpants book in less than a day. He's reading up to three hours a day some days, maybe more. Who'da thought he could sit still that long. Not that he's "still" while he reads, but stiller than usual. I'd like to add a special "fuck you in the eye" to my good good friend who regularly mumbled "Ritalin" at me whenever HQ was high energy around her. Fuck you. There's nothing wrong with him. He's an intense kid, but fuck you for thinking that's a problem. If it was a problem, he wouldn't be learning on schedule. Also a minor fuck you to my other friend who implied my kid has social skill problems due to the homeschooling. When your kid stops whining and bullying, then you can talk about my kid crying.

Yeah, seriously.

I hate how people seem to think that all kids should meet some imaginary gold standard for behaviour! Kids are people, too, and they're individuals.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] maevele, I'm glad that the new meds seem to be mostly helping. I hope the disoriented feeling passes soon!

yeah. I know my kid doesn't have the same social skills as other 7 yr olds, because he doesn't spend all day with other seven year olds. So he doesn't interact with other kids as well as he dos with adults. But y'know, when he's 22, he's not going to need to interact with 7 yr olds.

I'm going to make myself a "special snowflake" icon, from this picture: http://eleanorjevans.livejournal.com/230521.html

For icons, mostly I shop my friends' icons. Mind you, I add a new icon only a couple of times a year.

Full sentences! Yeah, no more monkeys jumping on my bed, either.

Chapter books? Very good indeed. Yay for kids who think reading is fun.

I'm so glad your little one's a reader. Thats what saved me as a kid, I think. Reading was always my land away.
