Can we stop talking about "Wealth" and the redistribution of such, and maybe talk about "Poverty" and the elimination thereof? Because you people are framing it wrong.
Yes. Thank you. The Pubs make me so mad with their talk of freeloading losers seeking handouts. Of course when I explicitly laid out my own situation and participation in entitlement programs they all just back off and say I'm not the kind of person their panties are in a bunch about.
Yeah, conversations and activism and legislation to eliminate poverty need to be happening and not stop happening until poverty's eliminated.
And that also means addressing other factors that make poverty more likely - like race, gender, gender identity, disability, and so on. Not addressing them separately, or as side effects or symptoms or anything, but head on.
yeah, it's much harder to have a little one liner soundbite about actual poverty. And I'm probably a damn commie for evenn thinking poverty is a problem.

Exactly! I know the only reason we're poor is because we're lazy! Just cause the husband works 55 hour weeks doesn't mean I shouldn't be out waiting tables when he gets home!
